<p>This is a scarf I knitted based on a sample of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amen_break">The Amen Break</a>. I took an image of the waveform of the amen break and converted it into a knitting pattern, which I uploaded onto <a href="http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2010/11/hack_your_knitting_machine.html">a hacked knitting machine</a>. The knitting pattern repeats over and over the same way that the amen break sample gets looped in <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SaFTm2bcac">so many musical compositions</a>.</p>

<span id="more-607"></span><br />
First, I was in an exhibition in Cincinnati, called <em>YOU.HERE</em>, which featured my <a href="http://andrewsalomone.com/blog/2011/02/12/a-pizza-for-sol/">Pizza for Sol</a> project, in which I attempted to have the delivery guy draw a portrait of Sol Lewitt on the pizza box as a reference to Lewitt&#8217;s famous &#8220;<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sol_LeWitt#Wall_Drawings">Wall Drawings</a>.&#8221;</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://andrewsalomone.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/speed-show-pizza.jpg" alt="speed show pizza" title="speed show pizza" width="427" height="640" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-608" /><br />
Photo: Aram Bartholl</p>
<p>Then I had a pizza sent to the opening of a <a href="http://speedshow.net/">Speed Show</a> in Stuttgart, Germany, organized by <a href="http://datenform.de/">Aram Bartholl</a>. After hours of googling pizza places in Stuttgart, I think I found the one place that would take &#8220;special instructions,&#8221; and accept my credit card, and deliver to the show. Unfortunately, the pizza arrived sans drawing on the box. This may have been due to the fact that I typed, &#8220;please draw a cat on the box&#8221; into google translate and had the phrase translated into German. But when I pasted the German translation into google translate again, and had it translated back to English, I got, &#8220;please take a cat on the field.&#8221; So maybe, as a result of my order, there is a cat on a field somewhere in Stuttgart; I hope so.</p>
<p align="center"><img src="http://andrewsalomone.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/special-instructions-google-translate-fail.jpg" alt="special instructions google translate fail" title="special instructions google translate fail" width="640" height="401" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-612" /></p>
<p>Stay tuned for more conceptual pizza as they are delivered&#8230;</p>
